Dr. Rachel Addleman received her B.S. degree
and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University School of
Veterinary Medicine in 1999. The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners
awarded her Diplomate status giving her the distinction of being among fewer
than 80 board certified feline specialists in the world.
Relocating to Southern California after
completing her doctorate, Dr. Addleman accepted a prestigious, one-year
internship with the nation's third largest small animal referral hospital,
focusing on emergency and critical care medicine. Following her internship,
Dr. Addleman spent more than four years at a Los Angeles small animal
hospital and more than two years specializing in feline medicine at a
premier Los Angeles cat hospital. In 2007, Dr. Addleman joined
Memorial Cat Hospital in Houston, the only hospital in the country with
three board certified feline specialists.
After practicing veterinary medicine for over 10
years, Dr. Addleman’s effort to improve animal health led her to study
alternative medicine. In 2008, Dr. Addleman became a certified veterinary
acupuncturist after completing more than 160-hours of study at the Chi
Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, Florida.
Today, Dr. Addleman considers herself a true patient advocate, and brings
complementary and integrative therapies to patients in the Houston, Texas
area.
